d-ribo Phytosphingosine 1-Phosphate is a potential modulator of cellular processes. It is also a high affinity ligand for the S1P4/Edg-6 receptor. d-ribo Phytosphingosine 1-Phosphate exerts its biological effects by binding to specific receptors on the cell surface, known as S1P receptors. There are five known S1P receptors, namely S1P1-5. Phytosphingosine 1-phosphate has been found to bind to S1P1 and S1P3 receptors, which are involved in cell migration, proliferation, and survival. The binding of Phytosphingosine 1-phosphate to S1P receptors activates downstream signaling pathways, which regulate various cellular processes.
