QUICK LINKS

D-Glucose-13C6 is an isotopically labeled form of glucose in which all six carbon atoms are the stable isotope carbon-13 (^13C). This compound is widely used in metabolic research to trace the pathways and fluxes of glucose in biological systems through nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy and mass spectrometry. Studies utilizing D-Glucose-13C6 focus on understanding the dynamics of glycolysis, the tricarboxylic acid (TCA) cycle, and the pentose phosphate pathway by observing the distribution of the ^13C label in various metabolites. Additionally, D-Glucose-13C6 serves as an important tool in research on glucose metabolism in different cell types and tissues, providing insights into how glucose is utilized under various physiological conditions. The use of this labeled compound also extends to research on gluconeogenesis and glycogen synthesis, as it helps to elucidate the contribution of glucose to these biosynthetic processes.
