Cyclosporin H is immunologically inactive and does not bind to immunophilin. Cyclosporin H is a potent inhibitor of tumor promoting phorbol ester TPA/PMA in mouse skin cells. It also acts as a potent inhibitor of Ca2+/calmodulin-dependent EF-2 phosphorylation in vitro. Cyclosporin H is a potent and selective antagonist of formyl peptide receptor (FPR), which thereby inhibits formyl peptide-induced superoxide formation.
