Cyclosporin D is a cyclic peptide and a natural analog of cyclosporin A, known for its immunosuppressive properties. Unlike its more prominent counterpart, cyclosporin D is often used in research to compare the biological activities of various cyclosporin molecules. This compound is of interest in studies of protein-protein interactions, especially those involving the cyclophilin family of proteins, which are intracellular binding targets of cyclosporins.
