Cyclin D2 Antibody (34B1-3) is a rat monoclonal IgG2a antibody designed to detect cyclin D2, a pivotal protein involved in the regulation of the cell cycle. Cyclin D2, also referred to as Ccnd2, cD2, Vin1, and Vin-1, plays a crucial role in controlling the transition from the G1 phase to the S phase by forming complexes with cyclin-dependent kinases (Cdk4 and Cdk6), which subsequently phosphorylate the retinoblastoma (Rb) protein, leading to the activation of E2F transcription factors essential for DNA synthesis and cell proliferation.
