QUICK LINKS

Cyanine 3-UTP, also known as Cy3-UTP, serves as a substitute for UTP in the presence of T7 RNA polymerase, enabling the generation of labeled probes through in vitro transcription. These probes exhibit orange fluorescence upon assembly of mRNA incorporating Cyanine 3-UTP. Furthermore, the resulting Cy3-labeled mRNA can be visualized under ultraviolet light without the need for additional staining after gel electrophoresis. These probes, when combined with cyanine 3-UTP, are particularly suited for multicolor fluorescence analysis, such as dual-color expression arrays. As a result, Cyanine 3 labeled RNA probes find extensive utility in various molecular biology applications, including in situ hybridization and gene expression microarrays.
