CRF Antibody (2B11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects corticotropin-releasing factor (CRF) in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-CRF antibody (2B11) is available as a non-conjugated format, which is crucial for studying CRF′s role in various physiological and pathological processes. CRF is primarily located in the hypothalamus, where CRF plays a vital role in stress response by regulating the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis. This regulation is essential for maintaining homeostasis during stress, as CRF stimulates the release of adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) from the pituitary gland, which in turn promotes cortisol release from the adrenal glands. Dysregulation of CRF signaling has been implicated in several neuropsychiatric disorders, including anxiety and depression, highlighting the importance of understanding CRF′s cellular localization and function. Furthermore, alterations in CRF levels have been observed in conditions such as Alzheimer′s disease, where reduced CRF content correlates with cognitive impairment, making CRF monoclonal antibody (2B11) a valuable tool for investigating the molecular mechanisms underlying these diseases.

For IHC, do I need to perform antigen retrieval? I'm planning to stain mice brain.

Asked by: SKSM
Thank you for your question. We do not recommend this antibody for IHC(P). However, if you would to try it in that application, we recommend using sodium citrate with heat at pH 6. Please find the link to our protocol below. https://www.scbt.com/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining

Rated 4 out of 5 by from GoodI used this antibody to do Immunohistochemistry as well as Western Blot. It works well at WB. But in the Immunohistochemistry, it reqired a really high concentration. It's good though.
