CREB3L4 Antibody (C-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects CREB3L4 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). CREB3L4, also known as AIbZIP, functions as a transcriptional activator that plays a crucial role in the unfolded protein response, a cellular stress response that helps maintain protein homeostasis. CREB3L4 is primarily expressed in luminal epithelial cells of the prostate, as well as in breast and skeletal tissues, where CREB3L4 binds as a dimer to the unfolded protein response element (UPRE) of DNA to activate transcription. The induction of CREB3L4 is intricately regulated by androgens, which are male hormones that, when present in elevated levels, can lead to the overexpression of CREB3L4. Notably, high levels of stress in the endoplasmic reticulum trigger the release and translocation of the N-terminal domain of CREB3L4 from the ER membrane to the nucleus, enabling DNA access and transcription initiation.
