Cortisol-9,11,12,12-d4 is a principal, anti-inflammatory glucocorticoid hormon produced by the adrenal cortex with ACTH-stimulated biosynthesis. Circulates in plasma primarily bound to transcortin (a.k.a. corticosteroid-binding globulin) as well as albumin. 9,11,12,12-d4-cortisol is a specifically labeled compound utilized for examining the impacts of cortisol. By incorporating deuterium atoms, this form of cortisol enables investigations into the metabolism of cortisol within biological systems.
