Compound W is a γ-secretase inhibitor that has been shown to lower the levels of secreted Aβ42 and Nβ25. The compound is a 3,3'-diiodothyronine sulfate cross-reactive substance, and is similar to N,N-dimethyl-T2S. Studies show that Compound W inhibits β-Amyloid (amyloid β peptides, Aβ) and has been used to test the analytical properties of the immunoprecipitation-liquid chromatography/mass spectrometry (ip-LC/MS) assay.
