QUICK LINKS

Colchicine, a tubulin Inhibitor, may act to block polymerization of microtubules by binding to tubulin. Studies indicate that this reagent also causes apoptosis of cells by acting on tissue plasminogen activators (tPA) and disrupting the cytoskeleton of cells. Exposure of cells to Colchicine has also been reported to result in alterations of Ca2+ concentrations in cells which may also result in apoptosis.
