CMV gB Antibody (1-M-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects CMV gB protein of CMV origin by western blotting (WB) and immunofluorescence (IF). Anti-CMV gB antibody (1-M-12) is available as the non-conjugated format. Cytomegalovirus (CMV), also known as human herpesvirus 5 (HHV-5), is a member of the herpes virus family, which includes other notable viruses such as herpes simplex virus types 1 and 2, Varicella Zoster Virus, and Epstein Barr virus. These viruses can remain dormant in the body for extended periods, posing a risk of reactivation, particularly in immunocompromised individuals. CMV gB protein plays a crucial role in the viral life cycle, as CMV gB is an essential component of the virion envelope and is vital for the virus′s ability to infect host cells. CMV gB′s structure, characterized by multiple domains that facilitate interactions with host cell receptors, is critical for mediating viral entry and fusion. Additionally, CMV gB is one of the most immunogenic proteins encoded by the virus, with a significant portion of neutralizing antibodies targeting this protein, making CMV gB a key focus for vaccine development and therapeutic interventions.

I need to use an antibody to detect the protein in samples of bovine origin. Do you know if this mouse monoclonal antibody will work?
