SEE ALSO...

CLN5 Antibody (D-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects CLN5 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). CLN5 (D-8) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. CLN5 protein plays a crucial role in lysosomal function and is involved in the degradation of cellular waste, which is vital for maintaining cellular homeostasis. Dysfunction of CLN5 is associated with neuronal ceroid-lipofuscinosis (NCL), a group of progressive neurodegenerative disorders primarily affecting children, characterized by the accumulation of lipofuscin in lysosomes, leading to neuronal death and severe neurological symptoms. CLN5 protein′s importance in lysosomal function underscores potential as a therapeutic target, as restoring CLN5 activity may help mitigate NCL effects. Mutations in CLN5 gene can lead to a specific form of NCL, highlighting CLN5 protein′s significance in both health and disease.
