Cis-3-Hydroxycotinine, an alkaloid naturally occurring in plants like tobacco, coffee, and tea, holds a significant position. It is a carcinogenic metabolite of nicotine. The primary mode of action of cis-3-Hydroxycotinine is believed to be through its agonistic activity at nicotinic acetylcholine receptors present in the brain.
