cis-12-Octadecenoic acid methyl ester is a monounsaturated C-18 fatty acid. It is a positional isomer of oleic acid. It is a colorless to yellowish liquid with a fruity odor, and it is generally soluble in alcohols, ethers, and chloroform, but insoluble in water.
