CIP2A Antibody (HL1916) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b antibody that detects CIP2A in human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and immunofluorescence (IF). CIP2A, also known as cancerous inhibitor of protein phosphatase 2A or p90 autoantigen, is a single-pass membrane protein that plays a pivotal role in oncogenesis by inhibiting protein phosphatase 2A (PP2A) activity. PP2A inhibition is significant as PP2A regulates various cellular processes, including cell growth and division, and PP2A inactivation leads to c-Myc stabilization, an oncogenic transcription factor driving tumor formation and malignant cell proliferation. CIP2A′s structure allows specific interaction with PP2A′s catalytic subunit, effectively blocking dephosphorylation activity. Such interaction facilitates human cell transformation by promoting phosphorylated c-Myc accumulation and oncogenic signaling pathways. CIP2A overexpression occurs frequently in several cancer types, including colon, gastric, and head and neck squamous cell carcinomas, highlighting CIP2A′s potential as a biomarker and therapeutic target in cancer research.
