CIDE-B Antibody (5X) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects CIDE-B of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-CIDE-B antibody (5X) is available as the non-conjugated monoclonal isotype antibody. CIDE-B plays a crucial role in the regulation of apoptosis, particularly in the DNA fragmentation process during programmed cell death. CIDE-B interacts with the DNA fragmentation factor (DFF), which consists of two subunits: DFF-45 (also known as ICAD) and CPAN (caspase-activated nuclease). CPAN is a deoxyribonuclease that is essential for the degradation of DNA during apoptosis, and DFF-45 tightly regulates CPAN activity. When caspase-3 is activated, caspase-3 cleaves DFF-45, releasing CPAN to enter the nucleus and initiate DNA degradation. CIDE-B, along with its homolog CIDE-A, shares structural similarities with the N-terminal region of DFF-45 and contributes to the apoptotic process by promoting cell death and DNA fragmentation, while DFF-45 also inhibits CIDE-B. This intricate interplay highlights CIDE-B′s importance in maintaining cellular homeostasis and regulating apoptosis, making CIDE-B a significant target for research in cancer and other diseases where apoptosis is dysregulated.

Can sc-101244: CIDE-B (5X) monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: jenniferc
Thank you for your question. Yes, sc-101244: CIDE-B (5X) is recommended for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
