ChREBP Antibody (G-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects ChREBP protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-ChREBP antibody (G-12) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. ChREBP, also known as carbohydrate response element binding protein, plays a crucial role as a transcription factor that regulates glucose metabolism by binding to the carbohydrate-responsive element of the L-type pyruvate kinase gene (L-PK). ChREBP is primarily expressed in the liver and is activated in response to high glucose levels, while cyclic adenosine monophosphate or a high-fat diet inhibits ChREBP activity. ChREBP function is vital for the long-term storage of excess carbohydrates as fats, which is particularly important in metabolic health and obesity, as an imbalance in nutrient utilization and storage can lead to various health issues. ChREBP interacts with Mlx to form heterodimers that bind to specific DNA sequences, thereby influencing gene expression. ChREBP is encoded by the WBSCR14 gene, located within the deletion region associated with Williams-Beuren syndrome, a neurodevelopmental disorder that can lead to developmental symptoms due to the loss of this transcription factor.
