    Choriogonadotropin Holo c3 Antibody (INN-hCG-45) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects the c3 epitope on holo Choriogonadotropin of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Choriogonadotropin Holo c3 antibody (INN-hCG-45) is available in a non-conjugated form, providing researchers with a versatile tool for studying this critical hormone. Choriogonadotropin, produced by the placenta during the first trimester of pregnancy, plays a vital role in maintaining pregnancy by stimulating the ovaries to produce essential steroids such as estrogen and progesterone. This hormone exists as a heterodimer composed of a unique β chain and an α chain that is common to all gonadotropins, with the unique β chain providing biological specificity to choriogonadotropin, luteinizing hormone, and follicle-stimulating hormone. The α subunit is encoded by a gene located on human chromosome 6, while the β subunit is mapped to chromosome 19. The proper functioning of choriogonadotropin is crucial, as choriogonadotropin not only supports the maintenance of pregnancy but also is a member of the cystine knot growth-factor superfamily, characterized by a distinct arrangement of six cysteine residues. This structural feature is essential for the hormone′s stability and activity, as the correct conformation of the cystine knot is necessary for secretion and dimerization, although the biological activity itself is independent of this conformation.
