Chlorophyllin sodium copper salt is a coloring agent used in the spectrophotometric determination of Ven-lafaxine hydrochloride. It has also been used in studies investigating the effect of chlorophyllin against radiation-induced hematopoietic syndrome. The effect of chlorophyllin on the excretion of PhIP and its metabolites was researched with Chlorophyllin sodium copper salt. This compound has chemopreventive properties and forms a non-covalent complex with many mutagenic/carcinogenic molecules. Chlorophyllin sodium copper salt also has antioxidant, antiapoptotic and immunostimulatory effects.
