QUICK LINKS

Chaetoglobosin F is a mycotoxin that functions as a potent inhibitor of protein synthesis. It exerts its mechanism of action by binding to the eukaryotic elongation factor 1A (eEF1A), preventing the delivery of aminoacyl-tRNAs to the ribosome during translation. This disruption ultimately leads to the inhibition of protein synthesis, affecting the growth and viability of cells. By targeting eEF1A, Chaetoglobosin F interferes with the elongation phase of protein synthesis, disrupting the normal cellular processes.
