CGS 19755 is a potent and competitive NMDA antagonist. CGS 19755 acts as a stereospecific inhibitor of NMDA-evoked acetylcholine release of sliced rat striatum. CGS 19755 also inhibits the binding of [3H]-3-(2-carboxypiperazin-4-yl)propyl-1-phosphonic acid to NMDA-type receptors.
