SEE ALSO...

CES2 Antibody (G5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects CES2 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-CES2 antibody (G5) is available as the non-conjugated format. CES2, a member of the type-B carboxylesterase/lipase family, plays a vital role in liver detoxification processes by hydrolyzing various xenobiotics and therapeutic pro-drugs, including narcotic compounds. CES2 (G5) antibody recognizes a protein that exhibits high affinity for specific esters, such as 3,6-diacetyl and 6-monoacetyl esters, commonly found in morphine and derivatives. This specificity allows CES2 to effectively modulate pharmacokinetics of these compounds, influencing therapeutic efficacy and safety. CES2′s catalytic activity links directly to structural characteristics, determining substrate interactions. Understanding CES2 function and interactions remains essential for developing targeted therapies, particularly when designing anti-tumor agents that exploit carboxylesterase enzymatic pathways.

Can sc-100685: CES2 (G5) monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: DefinitelyNotMatt
Thank you for your question. Yes, sc-100685: CES2 (G5) is recommended for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
