QUICK LINKS

Cerium(IV) sulfate is an oxidizing agent used in analytical chemistry for redox titration. It is known that if combined with hydrochloric acid, Cerium(IV) sulfate produces elemental chlorine. Studies indicate that Cerium(IV) sulfate can be used to determine the iodine number in oils. In addition, Cerium(IV) sulfate is a useful tool in spectrophotometric detection of olanzapine (sc-212469) and possibly other reagents, via oxidation in the presence of indicators such as Celestine blue (sc-214677).
