Ceftiofur Hydrochloride is a broad-spectrum cephalosporin antibiotic that functions by inhibiting the synthesis of bacterial cell walls. It achieves this by binding to and inhibiting the activity of penicillin-binding proteins. This disruption leads to the weakening of the cell wall, ultimately causing bacterial cell lysis and death. Ceftiofur Hydrochloride′s mechanism of action involves interfering with the final transpeptidation step of peptidoglycan synthesis, resulting in the inhibition of bacterial cell wall formation.
