QUICK LINKS

Ceftezole sodium is a cephalosporin antibiotic effective against a wide range of bacterial species. It works by inhibiting the synthesis of bacterial cell walls. Specifically, Ceftezole sodium binds to and inhibits the activity of penicillin-binding proteins, which are enzymes that are responsible for the synthesis of the peptidoglycan layer of the bacterial cell wall. This inhibition of peptidoglycan synthesis leads to the death of the bacteria. In addition to its antibacterial activity, Ceftezole sodium has also been shown to have anti-inflammatory, antifungal, and antineoplastic properties. In vitro studies employ Ceftezole sodium to study the effects of antibiotics on bacterial growth, cell viability, and gene expression.
