CD83 Antibody (6D287) is a rat monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects CD83 in human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and flow cytometry (FCM). CD83 is a heavily glycosylated membrane protein belonging to the immunoglobulin superfamily, primarily expressed in mature dendritic cells, Langerhans cells, and interdigitating reticulum cells within lymphoid tissues. The structure of CD83 features an extracellular V-type immunoglobulin-like domain, a single transmembrane domain, and a 40-residue cytoplasmic tail, which collectively facilitate CD83′s role in immune responses. CD83 serves as a marker for mature antigen-presenting dendritic cells that are crucial for generating tumor-specific T cell immunity, highlighting CD83′s potential as a target for anti-cancer vaccines. Studies involving CD83-IgG1(fc) chimeras have revealed that CD83 functions as a sialic acid-binding immunoglobulin-like lectin (Siglec) adhesion molecule, playing a vital role in cell adhesion and signaling by mediating interactions between dendritic cells, monocytes, and CD8+ T cells. This multifaceted role underscores CD83′s importance in orchestrating immune responses, making anti-CD83 antibody (6D287) an essential tool for researchers studying dendritic cell biology and immunotherapy.
