SEE ALSO...

CD42b Antibody (E-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects CD42b protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). CD42b (E-8) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates, providing versatility for different experimental needs. CD42b protein, also known as glycoprotein Ib α (GPIb α), plays a crucial role in hemostasis as CD42b forms a noncovalent complex with CD42a, functioning as a receptor for von Willebrand′s factor. This interaction is vital for platelet adhesion to the vascular endothelium at sites of injury, thereby facilitating the formation of a platelet plug and preventing excessive bleeding. CD42b expression on the surface of platelets and megakaryocytes underscores CD42b′s importance in the regulation of platelet function and the overall coagulation process. Understanding CD42b dynamics and interactions can provide insights into various bleeding disorders and potential therapeutic targets for enhancing hemostatic function.
