CD28 Antibody (3H1179) is a rat monoclonal IgG2b antibody that detects CD28 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and flow cytometry (FCM). Anti-CD28 antibody (3H1179) is available as the non-conjugated format. CD28 protein plays a crucial role in T cell activation and survival, serving as a primary co-stimulatory receptor that enhances T cell responses upon engagement with CD80 and CD86 ligands found on antigen-presenting cells. This interaction is vital for effective immune responses, promoting T cell proliferation and enhancing lymphokine production, which are essential for orchestrating immune response. CD28 protein′s importance is underscored by its ability to influence T cell fate; while predominantly expressed on resting T cells, CD28 engagement leads to a cascade of signaling events critical for T cell activation. Additionally, CD28 presence on T cells allows for a more robust immune response, particularly in infections and tumor immunity, making CD28 a significant target for therapeutic interventions in various diseases. CD28 (3H1179) antibody is an essential tool for researchers studying T cell biology and immune regulation mechanisms.
