CD1 Antibody (76-7-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects CD1 protein of porcine origin by immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and flow cytometry (FCM). Anti-CD1 antibody (76-7-4) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), providing versatility for different experimental needs. CD1 protein is a crucial component of the immune system, functioning as a lipid antigen-presenting molecule that interacts with T lymphocytes. CD1 protein is primarily located on the surface of immune cells such as cortical thymocytes, Langerhans cells, and certain dendritic cells, where CD1 plays a vital role in the recognition of lipid-based antigens. The structural similarity of CD1 to MHC class I molecules allows CD1 to present these lipid antigens effectively, which is essential for the activation of CD1-restricted T cells. The CD1 multigene family includes five isoforms in humans—CD1A, CD1B, CD1C, CD1D, and CD1E—each with specific roles in immune responses. CD1A serves as a marker for Langerhans cell histiocytosis and is found on interdigitating cells, highlighting CD1A′s importance in both immune surveillance and pathology. The trafficking of CD1 proteins is tightly regulated by adaptor-protein complexes and chaperones, ensuring proper immune function and response. The human CD1 genes are clustered on chromosome 1q 22-23, reflecting their evolutionary relationship and functional interdependence.
