QUICK LINKS

Carbacyclin (Carbocyclic PGI2) is a stable prostacyclin analog found to inhibit platelet aggregation induced by collagen or ADP. In experiments shown to reduce systemic arterial blood pressure in various animals. Displays ability to relax bovine coronary arteries and human respiratory smooth muscles. Also evident to act as an effector for preadipose cell differentiation. Very useful mimic of prostacyclin with lower potency. Suggested to be an IP Receptor and PPARbeta activator.
