CapZ-α3 Antibody (MB120) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects CapZ-α3 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB) and immunoprecipitation (IP). Anti-CapZ-α3 antibody (MB120) is available as a non-conjugated monoclonal isotype antibody. CapZ-α3, also known as Gsg3 or CAPPA3, is a 299 amino acid protein that belongs to the F-Actin capping protein family, which includes CapZ-α1, CapZ-α2, and CapZ-β3. These proteins play a crucial role in regulating actin dynamics by binding to the fast-growing barbed end of actin filaments in a calcium-dependent manner, effectively blocking protein exchange at these sites. CapZ-α3 is primarily expressed in sperm and testis, specifically localizing to the neck region of ejaculated sperm. This localization is vital for male fertility, as CapZ-α3 influences sperm architecture and spermatid morphogenesis, thereby contributing to successful reproduction. CapZ-α3 may exist as a heterodimer with beta subunits and shares 91% sequence similarity with mouse counterpart, indicating a conserved functional role across species.
