SEE ALSO...

CAP1 Antibody (E-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects CAP1 of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). CAP1 Antibody (E-4) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Cyclase-associated proteins (CAPs) are a family of evolutionarily conserved proteins that play crucial roles in signal transduction and the regulation of the actin cytoskeleton. CAP1, along with CAP2, is localized to the cell membrane and features a C-CAP/cofactor C-like domain, which is essential for function. CAP1 plays a key role in regulating actin filaments, which is vital for processes such as cell polarity establishment and mRNA localization. These functions are critical for maintaining cellular architecture and facilitating proper cellular responses to environmental cues. While CAP1 is expressed throughout various tissues, CAP2 shows predominant expression in skin, brain, heart, and skeletal muscle, with CAP2 overexpression linked to hepatocellular carcinoma, indicating potential involvement in cancer development.

Can CAP1 (E-4): sc-376191 monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: AbPolly
Thank you for your question. Yes, CAP1 (E-4): sc-376191 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
