Calpain Inhibitor XII is a cell-permeable, potent, selective, reversible, and active-site-directed inhibitor of calpain-1 (Ki = 19 nM). Calpain Inhibitor XII may act to inhibit calpain-2 (Ki = 120 nM) and human cathepsin B (Ki= 750 nM) only at higher concentrations. Calpain Inhibitor XII has been reported to induce neutrophile polarization and chemokinesis.
