Calcium phenylpyruvate, also known as phenylpyruvic acid calcium salt, is a compound that consists of the phenylpyruvate molecule bound to a calcium ion. It is derived from phenylalanine. Calcium phenylpyruvate can be used to investigate the metabolism of phenylalanine and related compounds. It may be used to study the enzymatic conversion of phenylpyruvate to other metabolites or the effects of calcium on phenylpyruvate metabolism.
