QUICK LINKS

Caged Ins(1,4,5)P3, Trisodium Salt is a photo-activated derivative of Ins(1,4,5)P3. The compound is not biologically active or metabolized by endogenous phosphatase. Caged InsP3 is a combination of two compounds in which InsP3 is esterified with 1(2-nitrophenyl)diazoethane (probably at the P4- or P5-position) and it can be selectively released by irradiation. Research shows that caged probes can be used to assay intracellular receptors.
