Cadmium sulfate 8/3-hydrate is a crystalline solid that is colorless and odorless, found in specific ores like greenockite and cadmium-rich sphalerite. This compound dissolves readily in water and ethanol and forms cadmium salts upon reacting with acids. It′s used in the cross-coupling of aliphatic substances, aliphatic alcohols, and raw materials. The regioselectivity of this reaction is anti-markovnikov with acetonitrile as the solvent. It is also used in the study of enzyme kinetics, in the analysis of metal ions, and in the study of the properties of metal complexes.
