Bystin Antibody (G-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects Bystin in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Bystin is an evolutionarily conserved protein that plays a crucial role in ribosome biogenesis, primarily localizing to the nucleolus and cytoplasm. Within the nucleus, Bystin associates with the 40S ribosomal subunit, which is essential for the assembly of ribosomes, the cellular machinery responsible for protein synthesis. The cytoplasmic form of Bystin interacts with Trophinin and Tastin, proteins that are vital for cell adhesion, thereby influencing cellular interactions and tissue integrity. Notably, Bystin knockdown has been shown to inhibit cell proliferation and delay the processing of RNA components necessary for ribosome assembly, highlighting Bystin′s importance in cellular growth and function. Furthermore, disruption of Bystin expression during embryonic development leads to arrest at the 16-cell stage, underscoring Bystin′s critical role in preimplantation embryo development. Additionally, Bystin is overexpressed in various human cancers, suggesting Bystin′s involvement in tumorigenesis and cell proliferation. With multifaceted roles in cellular processes, anti-Bystin antibody (G-1) serves as an invaluable tool for researchers investigating the mechanisms of ribosome biogenesis and implications in cancer biology.
