BXDC1 Antibody (2099C7a) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects BXDC1 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB) and immunoprecipitation (IP). BXDC1 (2099C7a) antibody is available as a non-conjugated format. BXDC1, or Brix domain-containing protein 1, is a crucial 306 amino acid nuclear protein encoded by the human gene BXDC1, which plays a significant role in ribosome biogenesis. BXDC1 contains a Brix domain, a structural motif essential for function in assembly of large ribosomal subunits. This domain shares homology with yeast protein Pitx1, which is part of a complex including RPF1, RPF2, and either SSF1 or SSF2, all necessary for formation of 60S ribosomal subunit. Proper functioning of BXDC1 and associated complexes is vital for protein synthesis, as ribosomes are cellular machinery responsible for translating mRNA into proteins. Disruptions in ribosome biogenesis can lead to various diseases, including cancer and genetic disorders, highlighting BXDC1′s importance in maintaining cellular health and function.
