    SEE ALSO...

BTLA Antibody (4B8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects BTLA protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-BTLA antibody (4B8) is available as the non-conjugated format. The B and T lymphocyte attenuator (BTLA) is an immunoglobulin domain-containing glycoprotein that plays a crucial role in regulating immune responses, particularly during T-cell activation. BTLA is structurally similar to other coinhibitory receptors such as CTLA-4 and PD-1, which are also part of the CD28 family; however, BTLA uniquely interacts with the herpesvirus entry mediator (HVEM), a TNF receptor, rather than the B7-Ig family of counter receptors. This interaction serves as a molecular switch that modulates T-cell activation by transmitting inhibitory signals through BTLA, thereby maintaining immune homeostasis and preventing excessive immune responses. The conservation of the BTLA-HVEM interaction between mouse and human highlights its significance as a regulatory pathway in lymphocyte activation, making BTLA a vital target for research in immunology and potential therapeutic interventions.

I am using BTLA (4B8): sc-517004 for immunofluorescence, what dilution of this antibody should I use?

    Asked by: TinTin
Thank you for your question. We recommend a starting dilution of 1:50. However, optimal antibody concentration should be determined by titration. Please find our full immunofluorescence protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunofluorescence-cell-staining
