Bromodichloroacetic acid (BDCA) is a halogenated carboxylic acid that is widely used in scientific research. It is employed for a variety of applications in the laboratory, including as a reagent for synthesis, as a catalyst, as a reactant in biochemical and physiological assays, and as a research tool in biochemistry and molecular biology. It can also act as an oxidizing agent, electrophile, and nucleophile. In vitro studies have shown that Bromodichloroacetic acid can inhibit the activity of enzymes, such as proteases and phosphatases, and can also inhibit the activity of transcription factors.
