Brn-3c Antibody (QQ8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Brn-3c protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Brn-3c antibody (QQ8) is available as the non-conjugated form. Brn-3c, a member of the Brn family of transcription factors, plays a crucial role in the development of the central nervous system, particularly in the differentiation and survival of specific neuronal populations. Located predominantly in the nucleus, Brn-3c is essential for the transcriptional regulation of genes involved in neuronal identity and function. Brn-3c′s ability to bind to specific DNA sequences allows activation or repression of target genes, thereby influencing neuronal development and plasticity. Notably, Brn-3c is part of a larger family that includes Brn-3a and Brn-3b, with Brn-3a functioning as a transcriptional activator and Brn-3b acting primarily as a repressor. The interplay between these proteins is vital for maintaining the balance of gene expression necessary for proper neuronal function. Brn-3c′s unique structural features, including POU domain, facilitate interaction with other transcription factors and regulatory proteins, underscoring Brn-3c′s importance in the intricate network of gene regulation during neurogenesis.
