BRMS1 Antibody (4H7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects BRMS1 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). BRMS1 (4H7) antibody is available as the non-conjugated anti-BRMS1 monoclonal isotype antibody. The breast cancer metastasis-suppressor 1 (BRMS1) protein, consisting of 246 amino acids, plays a crucial role in mediating metastasis suppression across various cancer types, including ovarian, lung, and bladder cancers, as well as murine mammary tumors. BRMS1 is primarily localized in the term placenta, although BRMS1 mRNA is expressed in several tissues such as the ovary, prostate, testis, and colon. BRMS1′s ability to suppress metastasis without inhibiting tumorigenicity is significant, as BRMS1 modifies several metastasis-associated phenotypes, thereby potentially altering cancer progression. BRMS1 participates in transcriptional regulation by interacting with the mSin3/histone deacetylase complex, which may influence gene expression related to metastasis. BRMS1 enhances the expression of connexin Cx43 while reducing connexin Cx32 levels, leading to the formation of gap junctions that facilitate intercellular communication, akin to those found in normal breast tissue. BRMS1 is stabilized by heat shock protein 90 (Hsp90) and may inhibit the activity of nuclear factor kappa-light-chain-enhancer of activated B cells (NFκB), further underscoring BRMS1′s importance in cancer biology.
