SEE ALSO...

Brk Antibody (5G1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects Brk in human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB) and immunoprecipitation (IP). Brk, also known as breast tumor kinase or PTK6, is a non-receptor tyrosine kinase that plays a pivotal role in various cellular processes, including cell proliferation, survival, and motility, by modulating ligand-mediated signal transduction pathways. Brk is primarily located in epithelial tissues, specifically in the cell layers just above the proliferative zone in the skin and the lining of the alimentary canal, which is crucial for maintaining tissue integrity and function. Notably, Brk is expressed at high levels in the colon, small intestine, and prostate, while Brk expression is significantly upregulated in many breast carcinomas, making Brk a potential biomarker for cancer diagnosis and prognosis. Brk′s ability to undergo autophosphorylation is particularly important, as this process may influence activity and regulatory mechanisms, further underscoring Brk′s significance in cancer biology. With specific reactivity and robust performance in key applications, anti-Brk antibody (5G1) is an essential tool for researchers investigating this kinase in health and disease.
