BRCC3 Antibody (AT3B1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects BRCC3 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), flow cytometry (FCM), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-BRCC3 antibody (AT3B1) is available as a non-conjugated monoclonal isotype antibody. BRCC3, also known as C6.1A or BRISC complex subunit BRCC36, is a crucial 316 amino acid nuclear protein that functions as a ubiquitin E3 ligase, playing a significant role in the cellular response to DNA damage. Specifically, BRCC3 localizes to sites of double-strand DNA breaks, where BRCC3 acts as a metalloprotease, cleaving Lys-6-linked polyubiquitin chains to promote cellular survival and facilitate DNA repair processes. This function is vital for maintaining genomic stability, particularly in cells undergoing replication stress or damage. BRCC3 exists in five alternatively spliced isoforms and is expressed in various tissues, including skeletal muscle, pancreas, kidney, heart, placenta, liver, lung, and brain. BRCC3 is a member of the peptidase M67A family and the BRCC36 subfamily, and BRCC3 gene is located on human chromosome Xq28 and mouse chromosome X A7.3. Chromosome X is notable for its association with several genetic disorders, such as color blindness, hemophilia, and Duchenne muscular dystrophy, which predominantly affect males due to their single X chromosome.
