QUICK LINKS

Pituitary Extract is usually used as a mitogenic supplement in serum-free growth medium. Studies suggest that this compound contains growth factors required for proliferation of melanocytes. Additional experiments show that, in addition to its mitogenic activity, It displays antioxidant characteristics. Pituitary Extract has been reported to provide protection against H2O2-induced cell death, protein oxidation, membrane fragmentation, and deoxyribonucleic acid damage.
