Maltohexaose is a disaccharide found in a variety of carbohydrates, such as starch, glycogen, and maltose. It is used as an acceptor for analyzing 4-alpha-glucotransferase activity. It has also been used in a study to investigate the production of a thermophilic maltooligosyl-trehalose synthase. Maltohexaose has a variety of biochemical and physiological effects.
