BNP Antibody (D-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgM antibody that detects BNP protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). BNP (D-8) antibody is available as the non-conjugated anti-BNP monoclonal isotype antibody. BNP, also known as brain natriuretic peptide, plays a crucial role in cardiovascular homeostasis by regulating blood pressure and fluid balance. BNP is primarily secreted by the ventricles of the heart in response to increased wall tension, which often occurs in conditions such as heart failure. BNP release leads to natriuresis, diuresis, and vasodilation, which collectively help to alleviate the burden on the heart and improve hemodynamics.
