BLVRA Antibody (2E4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects biliverdin reductase A in human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-BLVRA antibody (2E4) specifically recognizes biliverdin reductase A, a crucial enzyme primarily located in the cytoplasm of liver cells, where BLVRA plays a vital role in converting biliverdin IX α to bilirubin. This enzymatic process is significant as bilirubin serves as a potent antioxidant and is involved in the detoxification of heme, thereby protecting cells from oxidative stress. BLVRA (2E4) monoclonal antibody recognizes an enzyme essential for maintaining bilirubin homeostasis, and dysregulation can lead to various liver disorders and conditions associated with elevated bilirubin levels, such as jaundice. The gene encoding BLVRA is located on chromosome 7p14-cen, and BLVRA expression is predominantly found in the liver, highlighting its importance in hepatic function and overall metabolic health.
