Blood Group AB antigen Antibody (Z5H-2/Z2A) is a mouse monoclonal IgM antibody that detects Blood Group AB antigen protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and flow cytometry (FCM). Blood Group AB antigen (Z5H-2/Z2A) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), to suit diverse experimental needs. Blood Group AB antigen plays a crucial role in the immune response and is a key determinant in blood transfusion compatibility, making its accurate detection vital in clinical settings. Blood Group AB antigen is primarily located on the surface of erythrocytes and certain epithelial cells, where Blood Group AB antigen contributes to cell-cell recognition and signaling processes. The presence of A and B antigens on red blood cells is determined by specific glycosyltransferases that add sugar moieties to precursor substances, and any alterations in these antigens can lead to serious transfusion reactions or complications in organ transplantation. Blood group antigens undergo changes during malignant transformation, which can affect tumor immunology and patient prognosis. Understanding the structure and function of these antigens is essential for developing targeted therapies and improving patient outcomes in transfusion medicine and oncology.

I used this Ab(sc-52370) to detect A and B antigens and the results showed that B positive/A negative. However, if I used Abs against blood group A(sc-69951) and blood group B (sc-69952) separately, the results showed A and B both positive. Why A differ?

How can Blood Group AB antigen (Z5H-2/Z2A): sc-52370 mouse monoclonal antibody be used for double or triple staining, if the other primary antibodies are also raised in mouse?

Asked by: Dr Ninau Qelp
In this case, we recommend using a directly conjugated mouse monoclonal primary antibody. This antibody is available conjugated to phycoerythrin (sc-52370 PE) or fluoroscein (sc-52370 FITC).
